Women's Health/HRT
Treatment Overview
Hormone Therapy Designed Around You
Hormone replacement therapy works by restoring the estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone levels that naturally decline as women age. At RYLA Health, your treatment begins with comprehensive lab work and a thorough review of your symptoms not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
We offer both conventional HRT (FDA-approved formulations) and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), which uses compounds custom-mixed by a compounding pharmacy to match your body’s specific hormonal needs. Together, we’ll determine which approach is the right fit for you.
- Comprehensive hormone labs drawn and reviewed at baseline
- Treatment matched to both your labs and your lived symptoms
- Choice of HRT (standard) or BHRT (custom-compounded)
- Prescriptions sent to your retail or compounding pharmacy as appropriate
- Ongoing monitoring and plan adjustments over time
How It’s Delivered
Flexible Treatment Options
There is no single “right” way to receive hormone therapy. After reviewing your labs and discussing your lifestyle, we’ll recommend the delivery method that fits your routine and goals best.
Oral
Taken once daily, oral hormones are convenient and straightforward. Available for both estrogen and progesterone formulations.
Patches
Worn on the skin and changed weekly or twice weekly, patches deliver a steady hormone level without the daily pill routine.
Creams / Gels
Applied topically to the skin, creams and gels are absorbed transdermally and are especially popular in BHRT protocols.
Injections
Administered on a scheduled basis, injections deliver hormones directly and are helpful when precise, consistent dosing is needed.
Pellets
Tiny pellets inserted under the skin release hormones consistently over 3–6 months — a low-maintenance option with stable levels.
HRT vs. BHRT
Conventional HRT uses FDA-approved, standardized formulations. BHRT uses custom-compounded doses tailored to your exact lab results and needs. We offer both.
Recognizing the Signs
Symptoms Women Experience
Hormonal decline is gradual and its symptoms are often dismissed or misattributed. If any of the following sound familiar, a hormone evaluation may be an important next step.
Perimenopause
- Irregular or unpredictable periods
- Hot flashes and night sweats
- Disrupted sleep and insomnia
- Mood swings, irritability, and anxiety
- Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
- Decreased libido
- Fatigue and low energy
- Weight gain, particularly around the midsection
- Breast tenderness
- Headaches or worsening migraines
Menopause & Beyond
- Complete cessation of menstrual periods
- Persistent hot flashes and sweating
- Vaginal dryness and discomfort
- Painful intercourse
- Urinary urgency or increased frequency
- Bone density loss (increased fracture risk)
- Joint pain and muscle aches
- Thinning hair and dry skin
- Depression and emotional flatness
- Loss of muscle tone and strength
Why Treat
Benefits of Hormone Replacement Therapy
When managed properly, HRT and BHRT go far beyond symptom relief. Restoring hormonal balance supports your long-term health from the inside out.
Relief from Hot Flashes & Night Sweats
One of the most immediate and well-documented benefits — hormone therapy significantly reduces the frequency and severity of vasomotor symptoms.
Improved Sleep Quality
Restoring hormonal balance can reduce nighttime disruptions, helping you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.
Sharper Mental Clarity
Many women report reduced brain fog, better focus, and improved memory once hormone levels are stabilized.
Enhanced Mood & Emotional Balance
Estrogen plays a direct role in serotonin regulation. Restoring levels can ease irritability, anxiety, and low mood.
Stronger Bones & Joints
Estrogen is essential for bone density. HRT helps slow age-related bone loss and reduce the risk of osteoporosis and fractures.
Restored Libido & Vaginal Health
Hormone therapy addresses vaginal dryness, discomfort during intimacy, and low sexual desire which are areas often undertreated but deeply important to quality of life.
Who may not be a candidate
HRT may not be appropriate for women with a personal or family history of certain hormone-sensitive cancers, active blood clot disorders, uncontrolled cardiovascular disease, or unexplained vaginal bleeding. Your evaluation will include a full health history to ensure your safety.
Is This Right for You?
Who Is a Good Candidate for HRT?
Hormone therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and candidacy depends on a full picture of your health, symptoms, and goals. In general, women who may be good candidates include those who:
Are experiencing moderate to severe perimenopause or menopause symptoms affecting daily life
Have lab results confirming hormonal imbalance or decline
Are in early menopause or have had a surgical menopause (hysterectomy/oophorectomy)
Are concerned about bone density loss or early osteoporosis
